Meet the 2022-2023 Officers!

Hi, everyone! My name is Karina Rumans, and I am your POAC President

I started the PC track in Fall 2021, but have now switched to MFT. Starting this program was a massive change for me. I currently work in the insurance industry and have a BA in Business Administration & Management. I was terrified to take the leap of faith into the mental health field, but now that I am here, I know this is where I am meant to be. I am very interested in learning more about EMDR and would love to work with adolescents and young adults in the future. Apart from school and work, I have 3 fur babies that I am obsessed with. Two cats, Leo & Jackie, and one very crazy 2-year-old lab named Daisy. My husband, Walter, and I recently celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. We got married in Playa Mujeres, Mexico May 4th, 2021.

I look forward to getting to know you all as we navigate graduate school together!

Hello, everyone! I am Brittany Clonch, and I am your POAC Vice President

I am a teacher, a mom, and currently halfway through a dual track with M.S. in School Counseling along with PC. I am passionate about teaching SEL skills to children and teaching them to be empowered. My passion lies in being the change and the resiliency factor for students struggling with adverse childhood experiences. I have been a PreK teacher at The Leadership Academy at Como Elementary for six years and have been named Fort Worth Magazine’s Teacher of the Year in 2020. This year I had the honor of achieving top tier per TEA as a Mastery Teacher. Being a mom is what I am most proud of; my son is eight years old, and my daughter is 13. We have two cats, one dog, one hermit crab, and two pet snails. Disney is our happy place, and we named our Cocker Spaniel Walter in honor of Walt Disney!

I am looking forward to growing our POAC community and making lasting connections.

Hey everyone! My name is Cheryl Nichols, and I am your POAC Treasurer

I am an MFT master's student and stay-at-home mom. I worked in marketing for 16 years but was laid off when my son was a about one. After doing the PTA, and non-profit thing for several years, it was time to do something for me! I graduated from TxWes for my undergrad and am loving being back for graduate school. I started in the fall of 2021 and it's been a great experience so far. I have been married for 11 years to my best friend, we have a 16-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son, & a 12-year-old lab mix and an almost 2-year-old beagle shepherd mix, and a new kitten! We live on an acre full of beautiful trees and love to spend time together outside, camping, hiking, and making s'mores whenever possible!
